Protect your Ink from the Sun this Summer!

This past weekend I went to the Baltimore Tattoo Arts Convention, so I have had tattoos on the brain. Today I wanted to share a little tip to help you protect your ink from the sun this summer... and save you money at the same time!

It is very important to protect a tattoo from the sun's harmful rays, no matter how big or small. There are sunscreen products out on the market that are designed specifically for tattoo protection. Some are really cool and come in sticks that would be easy to lather up your ink with. However, if you are on the hunt and can't seem to find any of these products/ don't want to pay extra shipping for ordering online, I have a solution. Pick up a bottle of sunscreen for sensitive skin. Works just as well and you can use it for your entire body while your at it! It is much easier to find in stores and will possibly save you a few bucks.

While I was at the convention, I had the opportunity to meet Ink Master's Halo and talk to him about doing my next tattoo! He is such an amazing artist and equally as sweet a person.

Flawless Face Using All Drugstore Products!

The other day one of my coworkers asked me about the makeup products I use on my face to create a flawless look. I was so flattered because my skin is nowhere near flawless but I have found products that work wonderfully and allow me to fake my way to flawless skin. And what's even better is that all the products I use are drugstore!

I start by dotting Revlon Colorstay foundation in the matte finish all over my face and down my neck. I switch between Natural Beige and Fresh Beige depending on how much fake tanner I have on. No fancy technique or tools here... I blend the foundation with my fingers. I try not to do rubbing/ smearing motions as much as patting in and blending. Next I use Maybelline Age Rewind under eye concealer in the lightest shade to brighten up under my eyes. Again, I blend with my fingers. Then I use Maybelline Fit Me concealer in light to cover up any blemishes or breakouts.

I let all of that set for a minute then move onto the powder and contouring. I start with Rimmel's Stay Matte powder in translucent. I dust that all over my face with an elf blush brush. Using the same brush I take Revlon's Nearly Naked powder in Medium and contour my cheeks and under my jaw. I apply what's left on the brush all over my face and down my neck.

And there you have it! No expensive products or a lot of time needed to create a flawless face!

Tame your Mane Using Static Guard

There is nothing worse than static ruining a perfectly polished hair do you plan on rocking to a concert, party, bar, etc. Well, rain may be worse, but you get the idea. Today I have a simple solution that will completely eliminate the unwanted static. Static Guard! Yes, the kind in a spray can that you can pick up at any of your local drug or grocery stores. It's really inexpensive, can be used for many things, and works great to combat static hair!

Instead of spraying it directly on your hair, spray a fine mist on your brush or comb. You don't need a lot. Brush through your hair and watch the static disappear. So easy!

Hope this helps you tame your mane this summer!

Rock the Look: Nathalia Ashba Vegas Rocks! Awards

Nathalia is a gorgeous Colombian model who is married to Guns n Roses/ Sixx AM guitarist Dj Ashba. Her style is chic with an edge and I love it! Right up my alley. One of my favorite outfits she wore was to the Vegas Rocks! awards. I love leather leggings and pairing it with a sheer button down was sexy but still classy.

The black lace top and white blazer are both from Nordstrom, but don't worry, they won't break the bank! The leather leggings from Bebe are one of my favorites! I wear them to concert all the time and they are so comfortable! The booties are Jessica Simpson. Her shoes are my all time favorite! I have several pairs and have never been disappointed. So comfortable! This particular pair can be found at DSW, which means they are a great price. Last but not least, I tied the look together with a ring from Dj's clothing line, Ashbaswag.

Nathalia has gorgeous, glowing skin so make sure you use some St. Tropez beforehand. Add a little more edge with dramatic eyes. Try using a gunmetal shade all over the lid. Urban Decay has a great shadow in their Naked palette! Use black eyeliner on your top and bottom lash line and smudge. Add a couple coats of mascara and you are ready to go!

Need a Vacation after your Vacation? Regenerate with these Easy Tips!

Earlier this morning I got home from my vacation to the fabulous Las Vegas! What an exhausting trip! It was so much fun though. I had the chance to horseback ride and hike in the Red Rock Canyon, saw a ton of amazing shows, and enjoyed some bands at a local hotspot, Vamp'd! No spa day or pool time for this girl during this trip.

Now that I am home and can get back into my normal routine, I wanted to share a few tips to help you regenerate. It doesn't even need to be after a vacation!

Most importantly, drink lots of water! You can even add a little something extra by cutting up strawberries and lemons. That Las Vegas sun was hot and I know I did not drink nearly as much water as I usually do.

Eating watermelon helps you get back on the right track with your diet. It is also a natural detox that will help after all those late nights of partying and indulging in delicious meals. If you are a spicy food lover like myself, then add a little Sriracha to your watermelon for an extra kick. And when I say a little, I mean a little. It can be super spicy! I learned this delicious little trick at one of the restaurants during my vacation.

Get your skin glowing with a DIY sugar scrub using brown sugar, coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Slowly heat the coconut oil and mix with the brown sugar. Add in a little vanilla extract for a decadent scrub. Leave on for about 15 minutes and rinse off. Apply a body butter and your skin will feel amazing!

Lastly, ease back into your workout routine. Start off with long walks and clear your mind. Yoga is another great option to kick start your body. Build back up into your normal routine and you are good to go!

I hope these tips help you recharge and relax!

Use Leg Warmers to Protect Makeup During Flights

I am so excited to be heading to Las Vegas for a much needed vacation in a couple days! Last year during my travels, I had a couple makeup products break during the flight. I could still use them but any girl out there will know how messy eye shadows get once they have cracked. Not fun! This time around, in the mist of getting everything together and packing, I remembered a tip I learned years ago to better protect makeup products in suitcases and I wanted to share it with you.

All you need is a pair of leg warmers. Being a dancer, I had a few pairs laying around the house. If you don't, that's okay! You can get a pair for a really great price at Forever 21. Take your eye shadow palette, blush, powder, or whatever else you want to protect and place inside the leg warmer. If you have a lot of products put some in the other end, too. Begin folding the leg warmer ends into each other until they meet. Try to situate other clothes (socks work great) around the leg warmers in your suitcase to add extra protection and avoid outside edges. Your makeup should arrive at your final destination in one piece!

Rock the Look: Courtney Bingham at Models n Mutts Fundraiser

How2Girl, Courtney Bingham is one of my fashion inspirations. She always looks flirty and fabulous! I am constantly dying over her outfits and decided to recreate one of her looks.

In February, she hosted a Models n Mutts fundraiser event where she wore a floral top, off white mini skirt and black booties. I loved this outfit and was inspired to do a similar look. I remembered seeing many off white skirts on Forever 21's website and found one that is super cute. With all of the spring styles out right now, I knew I would be able to find a floral top there, too. After a quick search, I found a top that worked perfectly! The skirt and top came to just under $30. Can't beat that! I then went on the hunt for a pair of black booties. I tried various sites and finally came across the ones to the left on Journey's website for about $50.

Courtney was rocking some berry pink lips at the event so I turned to one of my favorites brands for hydrating lipsticks, Maybelline. I went with the shade Pink Me Up and it is perfect! I added a small gold bracelet, also from Forever 21, and made sure my skin was bronzed and glowing with St. Tropez.

Here are the links to the pieces I found to recreate Courtney's look: skirt, floral top, and booties. Check out Courtney's How2Girl website for amazing DIYs and tips by clicking here!
