Zombie Bride Makeup and Hair Tutorial!

With Halloween right around the corner, I wanted to share with you a look that I am absolutely in love with. It's inspired by Courtney Bingham-Sixx's zombie bride from last year and I think it would make a killer costume this year! I thought this would be a fun look to recreate. However, for my look I'm going to tone down the white face a bit. I wanted my skin tone to come through more than her's but no worries, we are still going to go pale!

Start off by making that skin look deathly pale. I am pretty pale to begin with so I don't have much to change but if you have a darker toned skin, simply use an ivory, full coverage foundation and apply all over and blend down to where your top will begin. You don't want to have a different colored neck and face. Now set your foundation with light or translucent powder. Time for one of the most important steps.. contouring! Take a matte gray eyeshadow (Shadowy Lady from MAC would be perfect) and apply in the hollows of your cheeks and your jaw line. Blend the edges slightly. Build up your gray and then add a little bit of black eyeshadow to the same areas. Blend again.

Now onto those undead eyes! Apply Shadowy Lady by MAC all over the lid and into the crease, as well as liberally underneath your eye. This is a cool, smokey gray. Now take Sketch from MAC, a gorgeous, muted plum, and blend it through your crease, up to your eyebrows, into the inner corner of your eye and towards your nose, and underneath your eye. Once you have built the color up underneath your eye, blend out so there are no harsh lines.

Last but not least, the lips! Cyber from MAC is a deep plum black and would be perfect to tie this zombie bride look together! If that is not dark enough for you, simply pat a little black eye shadow over top of the lipstick!

Get that messy, I've been dead for years hair by curling your hair in small sections. Brush out some sections and run your fingers through others to get out-of-control curls. Tease away! Get that hair as big as possible. If you want to add a little texture, spray some Not Your Mother's Sea Salt Spray and scrunch some sections.

Hope you love this look as much as I do! Happy Hauntings!

How 2 Get Tiffany's Bride of Chucky Costume!

Today I have my first DIY Halloween costume! I was watching The Bride of Chucky and I thought... how fun would it be to dress up as Tiffany for Halloween? She's super glam and creepy at the same time! So perfect for a killer Halloween costume. So, if you want to know how to get the Tiffany makeup, hair, nails, and clothes, keep reading!

Let's start with the makeup! Start off by applying you normal foundation, concealer, and powder. If you want her doll-like skin tone, go a shade or two lighter than normal. Contour your cheekbones using your bronzer and then apply Bobbie Brown's blush in plum right over top of that and blend up onto the apples of your cheeks. Take a black eyeshadow and fill in your brows and apply your eyeshadow primer to your lids. Take Wet N Wild's Petal Pusher palette and apply the lighter definer color to your lids and blend up. Apply the lighter crease color into the outer corners, into the crease, and along your lower lash lines. Take the darker crease and eyelid colors, mix together, and blend into the creases and lower lash lines. Apply the white browbone color as a highlight. Add a thin line of L'Oreal Linear Intense eyeliner in black to your top lash lines. Apply some mascara and pop on some false lashes. Add some of MAC's Cyber to your lips to vamp them up. Extend the corners of your lips to get Tiffany's evil smirk. Take any sort of eyeliner pencil and add Tiffany's beauty mark above your lips.

For hair, you have two options. One, purchase a blonde wig at Party City or other stores that has costumes and accessories. Two, blow dry your hair upside down and tease to get a lot of volume. Straighten and add a little flip to the ends.

Use my DIY stiletto nails tutorial, apply some claws and paint them black.

To complete Tiffany's look, click these links to check out a fabulous dress, moto jacket, and boots from Forever 21. They are the perfect finishing touches to complete your look and they won't break the back!

Now, as Tiffany says, "Barbie, eat your heart out!"

DIY Blood Splatter Nails

If you are looking for a way to add a little horror to your nails this Halloween, I have a tutorial for you! These blood splatter nails look killer and are surprisingly easy and fun to do! All you need are a light base nail polish (preferably white), a dark red nail polish, a click pen that you don't mind throwing away after you are finished, and a paper plate.

Start by painting your nails two coats of the base color and let dry. Unscrew the two halves of your pen and throw away the clicky end and the actual ink tube. Pour some of your red nail polish onto the paper plate and lightly dip the smaller end of the pen into it. Hold that end close to your first nail and blow into the pen! Red polish will splatter in random designs. Repeat this process on all of your nails and let dry! Apply a top coat to seal in all of your splatters and then you are finished! Now you have your very own Dexteresque nails!

Spooktacular Shows!

Halloween is quickly approaching! The nights are getting cooler and there is no better time to curl up and watch some creepy tv shows. Just be prepared to sleep with the light on! I wanted to share some of my all-time favorite shows to watch anytime of year, but particularly right around Halloween.

American Horror Story - I am a huge fan of this show! I love that each season is different. I have to say my favorite season is still Horror House, but all have been topnotch. Needless to say, I am beyond excited for a creepy carnival/ freak show theme. Right up my alley! It starts this Wednesday, so set your DVR!

The Walking Dead - Zombies? Yes, please! I was hooked on this show after the first episode of season 1. That whole season (as short as it is) is amazing! Not going to lie, I have not liked the recent seasons as much, but it still keeps me coming back for more. This one starts up within the next couple weeks.

Bates Motel - Very eerie show. It's the prequel to Psycho but Norman's mom is even more fascinatingly disturbing than him. Very interesting show that keeps you guessing.

Paranormal Witness - This show is surprisingly good and can sometimes be really scary. Each episode focuses on one or two "true" ghost stories with reenactments. Though I cannot say I completely believe all of the stories, the clips with the actors can be freaky. Most of the stories are really interesting, too.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? - An oldie but a goodie! If you want to take a trip down memory lane, I recommend you check out this show. I would watch this show every day after getting home from elementary school. I love it just as much now and I did back then!

Revealed 2 Palette Fall Eyes

This fall I have been loving anything orange, burgundy, berry, cabernet, and cranberry. Basically, any colors that remind me of fall. Not only have I been wearing a lot of these colored clothes, but I have also been loving playing with my eyeshadow and using these colors. I recently got my hands on Coastal Scent's Revealed 2 palette, which is a big change for me with the rose based colors, and it has exceeded my expectations. Not only are these shadows perfect to use to achieve fall looks, but the quality is amazing! So today, I want to share with you one of my favorite looks using this palette.

Start of by mixing a little bit of the gold shimmer (top, 4th from the right) with the peach shimmer (top, 3rd from the left) and the lightest color (top left corner). Apply this beautiful shimmery combo all over your lids and up into your crease. Mix some of the matte burgundy (bottom, 3rd from left) with the matte brown (bottom, 3rd from right) for your outer corner and crease. Start by smudging this combo into your lash line on the outer corner and blend up into a V shape and lightly into the crease. Continue this until you build up the color to your preferred intensity. Take this same color combo and apply it to the lower lash line, too. Go back in with the shimmers and touch up your lid. Add some of the lightest shadow to your brown bone for a nice highlight. Apply some liquid liner to your top lash line and mascara to finish off the look. So easy, right?

Rock the Look: Courtney Bingham-Sixx's Mod Inspired Style

This fall it seems like it is the return of mod and 90s inspired styles. I am totally not complaining. I love the 90s disheveled, grungy look for guys and the super fun and glam mod look for the ladies.

When I saw this picture of Courtney Bingham-Sixx (who we all know by now, is one of my biggest fashion inspirations) I just about died. I loved this look for fall and knew I had to have it. Well, thanks to Courtney's instagram post, I knew the dress could be found at Forever 21, which means it's very affordable. I quickly went to their site and found the dress. For the necklace, the exact one she is wearing is from TopShop and costs over $30. No, thank you! I found a coral, floral necklace on Forever 21 and thought it would look great with the dress and was a much better price. I was super excited about the boots because I bought an extremely similar pair on clearance at DSW this past summer. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, but DSW currently has a ton of amazing options. I found a Steve Madden pair that would be perfect to pull together this mod look.

Now for the makeup. Again, Courtney posted on instagram and shared her eye makeup was using Wet N Wild products. Again, so exciting to hear since Wet N Wild has great products for even greater prices. Use the eyeshadow trio in Don't Steal My Thunder and apply the lid color all over and the crease color heavily in the crease. Pop on some winged liquid liner, falsies, and a ton of mascara. Keep the lips nude with Wet N Wild's lipstick in Birthday Suit.

Let down your hair and enjoy this edgy, mod-inspired look!
