With Halloween right around the corner, I wanted to share with you a look that I am absolutely in love with. It's inspired by Courtney Bingham-Sixx's zombie bride from last year and I think it would make a killer costume this year! I thought this would be a fun look to recreate. However, for my look I'm going to tone down the white face a bit. I wanted my skin tone to come through more than her's but no worries, we are still going to go pale!
Start off by making that skin look deathly pale. I am pretty pale to begin with so I don't have much to change but if you have a darker toned skin, simply use an ivory, full coverage foundation and apply all over and blend down to where your top will begin. You don't want to have a different colored neck and face. Now set your foundation with light or translucent powder. Time for one of the most important steps.. contouring! Take a matte gray eyeshadow (Shadowy Lady from MAC would be perfect) and apply in the hollows of your cheeks and your jaw line. Blend the edges slightly. Build up your gray and then add a little bit of black eyeshadow to the same areas. Blend again.
Now onto those undead eyes! Apply Shadowy Lady by MAC all over the lid and into the crease, as well as liberally underneath your eye. This is a cool, smokey gray. Now take Sketch from MAC, a gorgeous, muted plum, and blend it through your crease, up to your eyebrows, into the inner corner of your eye and towards your nose, and underneath your eye. Once you have built the color up underneath your eye, blend out so there are no harsh lines.
Last but not least, the lips! Cyber from MAC is a deep plum black and would be perfect to tie this zombie bride look together! If that is not dark enough for you, simply pat a little black eye shadow over top of the lipstick!
Get that messy, I've been dead for years hair by curling your hair in small sections. Brush out some sections and run your fingers through others to get out-of-control curls. Tease away! Get that hair as big as possible. If you want to add a little texture, spray some Not Your Mother's Sea Salt Spray and scrunch some sections.
Hope you love this look as much as I do! Happy Hauntings!
