Must Have Beauty Products for VDAY!

With the most romantic day of the year right around the corner, what better time to incorporate a little more pink and red into your beauty routine? Today I want to share with you some of my favorite fun and flirty products that are perfect to get into the spirit of VDAY!

Eyes - Wet N Wild Sweet As Candy. I have been loving this eyeshadow trio. The pink shadow is a gorgeous pale shimmer the really brightens up the eyes. It's a pretty pink but not too overpowering for those thinking they can't rock the pink shadow. Blend the brown into your crease and you are good to go!

Nails - If you are looking for a beautiful pale pink than you can't go wrong with Essie's Fiji. This is one of those polishes that will make you look super duper tan! If you want the perfect traditional red, opt for OPI's Big Apple Red. It stunning and will add a nice pop of color if you wear a little black dress out to dinner with your man.

Lips - As I recently mentioned, L'Oreal's Glossy Balm in Lovely Mocha is a great pink that will go with any skin tone, any makeup, and any ensemble. It's also extremely hydrating and will make you lips extra kissable. If you are feeling a little more daring, go with the Kate Moss 111 Rimmel lipstick. This red won't flake or feather and it has blue undertones so your teeth will look dazzling. Super sultry!

Cheeks - Sure you can go with a poppy pink blush, and there are a ton on the market to pick from. However, the look I'm going for is again, flirty and fun. Benefit's Rockateur blush will give your cheeks a pale pink, almost iridescent look without being too over the top. It will complement your look without going overboard with the pinks and reds.

Refresh Hair and Add Instant Volume

Hair looking limp and lifeless? Or maybe not feeling as fresh and bouncy as you would like? Well, I have a simple solution that will take your hair from drab to fab.

We all know by now that it's not great to wash your hair every day. But that can make your hair feel a little greasy or flat. If you are looking for an instant refresh that will also add tons of instant volume to your hair, pick up a bottle of baby powder from your local drugstore. This lifesaver won't cost you more than $4 and will last a long time. All you have to do it pour a little on your hands and rub together. Gentle massage the powder into your scalp and voila! Your hair will be looking like you just left the dry bar!

If you are like me and cannot stand the scent of baby powder, don't rule this tip out just yet. Pour some of your baby powder into a bowl. Take some lavender oil and add about 10 drops into the powder. Gently mix then apply to your hair.

All About the Nude Lip!

Nude lips. The versatile look that every girl needs in her beauty arsenal. This look is so easy to rock and even easier to dress up or dress down. You can take your look from day to night, no sweat! By pairing this look with a little mascara and bronzer, you will be looking oh, so chic and effortless. Pair it with a smokey eye and you will be ready for a night out on the town with your girlfriends. You can even pull off a fab mod-inspired look by pairing the nude lip with a strong cat eye and a light dusting of blush.

A few key tips every girl should know before rocking this killer look. Make sure your lips are in tip, top conditioned shape. Use this DIY plumping scrub via Poppy Juice to achieve an amazing moisturized pout. Mix 1 tsp of ground cinammon, 1 tbsp of olive oil, and 1 tbsp of sugar. Now that your lips are looking luscious, apply a little concealer and blend all over your lips to cancel out any natural color. This will insure the true nude will pop on your pout. Lastly, be sure to steer clear of nudes that are too light for your skin tone. You can run the risk of looking washed out or dead. When in doubt, dab a little gloss over your lipstick.

Quick Fix for Removing Stubborn Glitter Nail Polish

The holidays have officially come and gone. A new year means  a new manicure. It's time to remove that glitter polish left over from the holidays, but if you are like me, you dread the removal process. Seriously, it's such a process! So much time, effort, and cotton balls wasted taking off glitter polishes. Well, I have a quick fix that will make removing stubborn glitter so much easier. A washcloth! Yes, a washcloth you use in the shower. Simply use an old rag that you don't mind designating as your "nail polish removal rag" and some acetone nail polish remover to scrub off the glitter. How easy is that?

Get Courtney Bingham-Sixx's Fab Wedding Makeup Look!

I was insanely inspired after picking up the most recent issue of Inside Weddings, which featured Nikki Sixx and Courtney Bigham's stunning wedding. I had seen pictures from their wedding but I was dying as I was looking through their spread. Courtney's makeup was to die for and I wanted to share how to get her look.

Start off with your favorite matte foundation and concealer to create a flawless face. Apply Maybelline Age Rewind concealer under your eyes to brighten up the area. Apply a setting powder. Use L'Oreal True Match powder in True Beige to contour your cheek bones. Apply Benefit Rockatuer blush on the apples of your cheeks to add a pop of color.

Apply an eyeshadow primer and let set. Apply Jouer Cosmetics shadow in Mahogany all over the lids and blend up into the crease. Apply any ivory shadow to your brow bone for a nice highlight. Run the Revlon ColorStay liner in black lightly under your lower lash line. Blend with more of Mahogany. Apply the same Revlon liner to the outer third of your top lash line. Apply some false lashes and some Maybelline Falsies Mascara to top it all off.

Now it's time to fill in those brows! Using the Naked Basics 2 palette, mix the two darkest shadows and blend into your browns for fab definition. If you think it's looking a little too harsh, grab a qtip and lightly run it through your brows for a quick fix!

If you are as in love with Courtney's lip color as I am, you're in luck! Jouer's lipstick in Meg was the one she was wearing on her big day. It's a gorgeous poppy pink that will complement the dramatic eyes perfectly!
