Fake Your Way to Longer Looking Legs!

I have always been jealous of models like Gisele Bundchen and Candice Swanepoel because of there long legs. Seriously, they look like they are never ending! Being 5'4, I have had to find ways to fake long legs. Here are some of my favorite tricks to achieve the illusion!

Nude pumps! Get a pair of these bad boys with at least a 4 inch heel and your legs will look like they go on for days! However, this won't work if you are wearing black tights. With a bare leg, the nude pump gives you height and extends your leg like crazy!

Next, bronzed legs. I don't know what it is, but bronzed legs always look sexier (and longer). Just look at all the models in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show! Speaking of VS, they make great shimmer lotion, which will really enhances your legs without making them too flashy. Be sure to check back soon because I plan on dishing all kinds of advice on self tanners!

High wasted mini dresses and skirts are another way to lengthen those legs. It shows lot of leg but also give the illusion your hip bones are higher and therefore, makes those legs look much longer. Forever 21 has so many great dresses that create this illusion at really affordable prices!

Hope these tricks help you fake your way to longer looking legs!

Mastering the Smokey Eye!

The smokey eye is such a sexy look that completes any face! It can be created with softer colors for the day or vamped up for a sultry look at night. It can also turn messy very quickly, so here are a few tips I learned from a makeup artist friend.

To lock in your eyeshadow, be sure to start by applying a primer all over your lid. My personal favorite is the Urban Decay Primer Potion. It works wonders!

Next, apply a lighter base color all over the lid and up through the crease. Take your medium shadow and apply in the crease and outter corner, blending into the center of your lid. Apply your darkest shadow to the outter corner of your eye in a v shape and blend up and out. Apply to the outter half of your crease and blend up to brow bone. Apply an off-white or champagne shadow to your brow bone and inner corner to highlight and make your eyes pop! Take your darkest shadow and lightly apply to the lower lash line, focusing mostly on the outter half of your eye. Blend down for an extra edgy look!

Wing out your liner to create a cat eye and pop some liner on your waterline for depth. I love L'Oreal's liquid liner for my top lash line and Revlon ColorStay for my waterline. Add mascara and false lashes to bring the whole look together!

Just a few extra tips before you have all the tools to complete this look, no makeup artist required! First, when applying your liquid liner, make the line thinner in the inner corner and middle of your eye and thicken once you hit the outter corner and wing. This will elongate your eye and add instant drama! Pat on a matte black eyeshadow over your liner to ensure it won't budge. Hold a tissue under your eye when working with dark shadows to avoid fallout. Lastly, all three Urban Decay Naked palettes are amazing for creating smokey eye looks. Try Naked 1 or 2 for a sultry, edgy look and Naked 3 for a soft, romantic smokey eye!

Glam Rocker Chick Style Tips

There's something very alluring about all the dirt and glamour that come with rock and roll. I love letting my hair down and getting dolled up to go to a rock concert but I will be the first to admit that I was very unsure about what to wear at first. Over the past few years, I have been to my fair share of rock shows (everything from Guns N Roses to Motley Crue to In This Moment to Three Days Grace) and have learned a few tips about what works and what does not.

If it's rock n roll, leather is a must! Leather leggings are my absolute favorite thing to wear to concerts. They are sleek, sexy, and edgy! A leather jacket is another necessity, especially during cold weather! Simple tanks or sheer tops are great to pair with the leather leggings.

If it's during the summer, you may want to opt for a pair of black jean or leather shorts or a high wasted skirt and a crop top.

Whether I'm wearing leggings, shorts, or a skirt, you will always find me in boots! Flat boots are usually the best option because you will probably be standing for a long time. Gun N Roses plays an almost 3 hour show and that's not including the wait time or the opening band. Motorcycle boots or studded boots are always great options. However, if you know you have seats or a table, rock those over the knee boots!

Think about layering necklaces and stacking bracelets for an edgy look. I always wear a lot of statement rings to shows, as well. Jewelry by Elodie K and Ashbaswag have great selections. Of course, Forever21 will always be one of my favorites for affordable jewelry that I don't have to worry about losing!

Last but not least, ditch the large handbag and get a clutch or cross body. You don't need to take too much to a concert and with people everywhere, you want to keep your valuables close. Also, make sure your clutch has a wrist strap. That way you can rock out but know that your things aren't going anywhere!

Chic Hair without the Hassle

The last thing I want to spend a lot of time on in the early hours of the morning is my hair. However, I still want to look put together at work. So, here are a few quick and easy styles that look chic.. even if you haven't washed your hair in a day or two!

The side braid is a great way to get your hair out of your face without putting it in a boring ponytail. Pull all of your hair to one side and braid away! Once your hair is braided, gently tug at the sides to loosen the braid give off the illusion that you have a lot more hair. Pull out some shorter layers of hair that frame your face and tussle to add a little edge. Add some volumizing spray and tease around the crown before braiding to make your hair look even more fabulous.

Another one of my go-to hair styles is a bun! Here are two variations that I use on a regular basis. First, the ever popular top knot bun! I have really fine hair and for the longest time I thought I would never be able to achieve this look. Thanks to Luxy Hair clip-in extensions, I can now rock a big top knot bun! If you are using extensions for this look make sure to clip them in upside down so when you pull your hair up the clips will lay flat. I clip in a weft near the base of my neck, in line with my ears, and near the top of my head. Pull all your hair up on the top of your head and secure with a hair tie. Then loosely wrap hair around the hair tie and go bobby pin crazy! I use so many to make sure my bun isn't budging throughout the day. Second is a seashell bun. This bun will make you look like you have a ton of hair without any extensions needed! Flip your hair over, pull up to the top of your head and begin twisting the hair tie around. On the last twist, pull your hair halfway through to create a loop facing upwards. At this point it should look like a small fan. Gently pull at the side until your bun is as big as you want it and secure with bobby pins.

Top off any of these styles with my favorite hairspray, L'Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray! It has a strong hold without making your hair crunchy.

DIY Shredded Rocker Chic Tights

Looking for a way to add a little edge to your wardrobe? If you are anything like me, you have a large collection of black tights and leggings. Well, here is a fun and easy way to turn a pair of plain leggings into shredded leggings!

Take a pair of scissors and make small cuts horizontally where ever you want the tears. Gently pull at the tear until you achieve the desired size and shape. You can also pull vertically along raw edges to create runs. If your tights are a thinner material, you can use a sharp knife or razor to create your desired look, as well.

Target and Forever 21 carry some of my favorite leggings. They are comfortable but more importantly, they are affordable! So they would be great to use when experimenting with shredding techniques.

These shredded tights would be perfect to throw on with a tunic top, leather jacket, and black boots. Can you say rocker chic? It would be a great outfit to wear to a concert or a local hot spot!

Now get that creativity flowing and shred away!

Get Toned, Sexy Arms without the Gym!

The start of a new year is the perfect time to kick start your exercise routine. Summer will be here before you know it and let's face it, everyone wants to have that perfect bikini body. Planning a vacation in the upcoming months is even more motivation to add a little physical activity into your daily routine. I'm planning a trip to Las Vegas in April and I know I want to tone up a little bit before then. Now, you definitely do not want to over exert yourself and burn out right away. You also don't want to go about losing weight in an unhealthy way. So, I'm going to show you various workouts you can do in the comfort of your own home and without any equipment.

Today I'm going to focus on easy ways to easy back into or begin working out your arms.

For about two weeks work on doing 2 reps of 8-10 chair dips. Make sure they are slow and controlled. Keep your abs tight for an extra bonus. After two weeks, increase to 3 reps of 10 chair dips. You will want to do these 3-5 times a week. And don't skip those important rest days. They allow your muscles to develop and give your body a rest.

For the first two weeks do 50 squats or plies while keeping arms tight, straight, and out to your sides. After two weeks, start increasing the number of squats by 10 each week and continue to keep arms out to the sides.

While standing with legs apart, arms out to the sides, and abs tight, make fists and begin doing small circular motions. Trust me, you will begin to feel the burn. You can also do large circular motions and quick pulsing motions with palms down for variation.

Another great tip I learned was about weights. If you want to do some beginner weight lifting but do not want to purchase the equipment, use unopened water bottles. They work great!

I hope these quick work outs help you ease into a healthier daily routine!

DIY Stiletto Nails.

Stiletto, or claw, nails have definitely become a popular trend within the past year or so. I love them just as much as the next person, but I have not been able to commit to a profession, acrylic set. Sometimes I want my short nails and at other times, I crave long, sexy nails! That's how I came up with the solution of DIY stiletto nails!

I picked up the Kiss Medium Length Active Oval Glue on Nials Kit, which comes with 100 nails in various sized plus the nail glue. These nails are clear, which allows you to paint them any color once applied. I found the size that best fit all of my nails and laid them out accordingly.

Be sure to have your natural nails trimmed down short and round of the corners. While holding the fake nail up to your real nail, use large nail clippers to cut one side. The clippers should be lined up from the center of the fake nail (where you want the point) to the corner of your real nail. Then cut the other side to match. Once you have all your fake nails cut in the general shape you desire, you can go back with a nail file and make adjustments.

Now you are ready to glue on your nails! This glue is pretty strong, so be careful when applying! I always start with my pinkies and work my way to the thumbs. Trust me, it makes it a lot easier to glue on the thumb nails last. Make sure to press hard on all areas of the nail to make sure it's really on there!

Let them sit for a minute, paint them, and your done!

These will last about a week to a week and a half. The longest I've had a set last was two weeks. Sometimes a nail or two will come loose but you can just reglue them on and you're good to go! They do not damage your nature nail if you let them fall of naturally or soak them in nail polish remover before taking off. Also, nail polish lasts forever on these bad boys, which is so great.
