My Must-Have Lip Colors for Fall!

Fall Lip Colors
Tomorrow is October 1st and that means it is time to break out those must-have fall lip colors! I have my five go-to lip colors that I am always reaching for and I want to share them with you. And the best part about these products is, they are all drugstore and super affordable! From left to right:

Revlon Standout Matte Balm - I love this vampy red! It is the perfect shade for fall because it is not too bright. It is easy to apply and doesn't flake or feather throughout the day.

Rimmel Heather Shimmer - This lipstick is a very interesting color. When looking at it in the tube, it looks like a mauve/ plum. When on the lips, it looks like a plum from far away and a brown/ nude up close.

Maybelline Totally Toffee - This is the lipstick that I reach for when I don't know what I want to do with my makeup. I know it will go with any eye look and outfit. It is creamy on the lips and stays on all day.

Milani Nude Creme - This is a peachy nude that is a great option for a light, fresh fall face. I think it is a great lipstick to transition your makeup from summer to fall.

Nyx Zurich - Okay, I have a love/ hate relationship with this product. I adore the color. It's a peachy, almost slightly orange, nude that is so perfect for the fall and goes with many different fall inspired eye looks. The only problem is, it dries out my lips so badly within minutes of putting it on. I quick fix I found, that has really saved this product for me, is to take a little bit of the Vaseline lip therapy and pat it over top of Zurich. Instant moisture!

Fall Outfits Recreated for Half the Price!

Revolve Clothing
I love Revolve Clothing but sometimes I feel that their stuff is so over-priced that one outfit would break the bank. On their front page right now they have a ton of "get the look" fall options. Needless to say, I fell in love with almost every single one. There were two in particular that I knew I had to have. So, I got the bright idea to recreate these outfits using other clothing brands for half the price! Keep reading to learn how to get these looks for less!

Left: I love the flirty yet professional look from the outfit pictured on the left. The gray skirt with the black top and booties are just too fun! I found a similar skirt and top from... you guessed it, Forever 21. This skirt is very similar in style but has a little bit of red mixed in, which ties together the red lip. This black blouse is also very similar and a great price. Journey's has a ton of black heeled and wedged booties that would look killer with this outfit.

Right: This outfit is to die for! It is so perfect for those chilly fall days. The first site I browsed for something similar to this look was again, Forever 21. I found this skirt that reminded me almost exactly of the skirt from Revolve. I had a bit of a challenge finding a sweater that would be similar but not too expensive. Everything I was finding was either too long, not the right color, or not a V neck. Finally, I found this sweater on Express' website. These boots are the perfect finishing touch to complete this outfit.

This just goes to show you don't have to spend a ton of money to create some killer outfits!

Fall Style Essential: Oversized Plaid Shirt

I love fall style! One of my favorite items of clothing to wear to stay warm and cozy in the crisp air is oversized plaid shirts. There are so many ways to rock this shirts and it pretty much scream fall! That is why it is one of my fall style essentials.

An oversized plaid shirt is perfect whether you are going to a pumpkin patch, screaming you head off on a haunted hayride, or cuddling up watching some of the Halloween movies I suggested in my previous post. It looks slightly grungy but still put together. My favorite way to wear this shirt is with leggings, boots, and my Ray-Bans. But another killer way to style this shirt is tying it around your waist with shorts, a crop top, and motorcycle boots. I am going to Florida for Halloween Horror Nights in October and I will definitely be rocking this look. That way, when it cools off at night, you can put it on and keep warm.

I wanted to share some of my favorite oversized plaid shirts I have found on the internet. The deep purple with lace one is my absolute favorite. If you can't find one you are in love with or they don't have your size, another option is to buy a men's plaid shirt. It will be just as perfectly oversized as the trendy ones you can get in the womens department.

Option 1, option 2, and option 3.

It's officially Fall! What better to do on a cool night in September or October than have a Halloween movie marathon! So grab a blanket, dim the lights, light a pumpkin candle, and find someone to cuddle into when you get too scared. Here is a list of movie I love watching around Halloween time. It has something for everything... Whether you a horror movie fanatic or you like to stick to the less scary flicks.

My Go-To, Naked Palette Concert Eye Look!

This rock chick loves going to concerts! For the past couple years I have had my go-to eye look that I rock to every concert. It's easy, it's flattering, and it really makes my eyes pop. The best part is, it can be created using one palette! This is a must since I have been doing a lot of traveling to Motley Crue shows and don't want to pack a ton of makeup for overnight trips.

So, if you want to know how to get the look pictured above, which I am totally in love with, grab your Urban Decay Naked Palette and let's get started!

I always start by priming my eyes with Urban Decay's Primer Potion. After you let that set, mix Sin, Sidecar, and a tiny bit of Virgin and pat all over the lid. I tend to blend up into the crease, as well. Now take Gunmetal and pop it into your crease and outer corner in a V. I like to pull the shadow up and out, while maintaining that V shape, to elongate my eyes. Blend away! I usually go back in and darken up the outer corner with Gunmetal and then mix in a little bit of Creep for depth. Again, blend. Add a little more Sin and Sidecar to the inner 2/3 of your lid if any got lost with all the blending. Apply Virgin to your brown bone for a gorgeous highlight. Take Revlon's ColorStay waterproof black liner and apply to your lower lash line. I like to make the outer corner thicker and darker, again to elongate my eyes. Go back to the Naked palette and apply Creep over top the liner and blend. Add your favorite liquid liner to your top lash line with a slight wing. Apply your favorite mascara and false lashes and you're done! So easy, right?

I like to pair this eye look with the LipFusion gloss in Sugar. It's a plumping gloss but isn't too intense. It makes your lips look more luscious while adding a "your lips but better" tint (as Leighannsays on YouTube would say).

Also, a little bonus tip! The Naked palette is a little pricey and if that is out of your budget or you just cannot justify spending that kind of money on eye shadows, I have a solution. Coastal Scent's Revealed palette has almost identical shadows for half the price. And, the quality of these shadows are not compromised. They are super easy to blend and stay on all day!

My Must Have Fall Nail Colors!

Must Have Fall Nail Colors
Fall is seriously my favorite time of the year. With all the crisp mornings we have been having, it definitely feels like fall is here! That means knee high boots, orange leaves, pumpkin lattes, and dark nails! Now, I'm not going to sit here and lie to you... I wear dark nail polish all year. After all, rules are meant to be broken, right? But for those of you who get into wearing dark polishes once the weather cools off, these are a few of my favorites that are so gorgeous to rock this season. From left to right: Essie - Wicked, Revlon - Knockout, Revlon - Velvet Rope, OPI - Casino Royale, Essie - Mink Muff. All of these go on fabulously without needed a ton of coats, last a long time without chipping, and will not break the bank!

PS - I know August and the beginning of September were a little quiet here but prepare to be bombarded with fall-themed posts within the next couple months!

Fall Look Inspired by SJP's Dramatic Hocus Pocus Makeup!

I can't believe my favorite season is right around the corner. I could not be more excited for fall and everything that comes with it! I have already pulled out the boots and sweaters, lit my leaves candle, and ordered a pumpkin latte. I have also already watched one of my all time favorite Halloween movies, Hocus Pocus for the first of many times this fall. Ever since I was young, I have always loved Sarah. Well, while I was watching the movie last night, I noticed how gorgeous her makeup is! It is seriously the perfect fall makeup look. And, it is super easy to recreate. So, without further adieu, here is how to get the fabulous Sarah Sanderson's witchy, fall makeup look.

She has flawless skin and when it comes to covering up imperfection, I feel like a broken record. I always use Revlon ColorStay foundation, Maybelline FitMe and Age Rewind concealers, Rimmel Stay Matte powder, and Revlon Nearly Naked powder for contouring. I love these products to death, which is why they never change. I would highly recommend them but you can use whatever face products you prefer. Also, apply an eyeshadow primer of choice all over your lids and let it set. I am still loving Urban Decay's Primer Potion!

Now onto the fun, dramatic parts of this look... eyes and lips! Starting with the eyes, apply Jouer's Mahogany eyeshadow all over the lids and up into the crease. This is a gorgeous dark brown with red undertones and the tiniest bit of sparkle. I'm not lying when I say with Jouer eyeshadows, a little goes a long way without losing any pigmentation. Blend out the crease with the crease color in Wet N Wild's trio in Sweet As Candy and highlight your brow bones with the highlight shadown in Wet N Wild's trio in Silent Treatment. Apply a thick line of your favorite black liquid liner to your top lash line. My personal favorite is L'Oreal Linear Intense Liquid Eyeliner. Take Revlon's ColorStay black waterproof liner and apply it under your lower lashes and in your waterline. Smudge out the black with some of the Jouer Mahogany shadow. Sarah's shadow is pretty thick and intense under her eyes in the movie. Pop on a coat of Maybelline's Falsies Flared mascara in black and apply your favorite false lashes for some extra drama. Apply another coat of mascara to bond your real lashes with the falsies and your eyes are done!

I love the red lipstick she rocks in the movie because it's more of a vampy red without being too dark. I used the Revlon Matte Balm in Standout and it worked perfectly!

I hope you enjoy this look as much as I do! Just another one of the many reasons I am so excited for fall!
