My Top 4 Hairsprays Every Girl Needs!

*via How2Girl Instagram
I use hairspray practically every day. I've seen the good, the bad, and the downright crunchy. Every girl wants their curls to hold all day but not by sacrificing soft hair that you can run your fingers through. Today I want to share with you my top 4 hairsprays I absolutely love!

Euphora Uplift Finishing Spray - This has to be my all time favorite hairspray. It's a professional brand so it's a little pricey but it works so well! It holds any style (even overnight while you sleep) while keeping hair soft. And the best part, it smells amazing!

L'Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray - This stuff is kind of amazing, too. It has a strong hold and keeps hair super soft. It's still a little pricey for a drugstore hairspray but lasts a really long time. And that includes liberal use every day. The only downside is that the smell isn't the greatest.

Bed Head Hard Head - This is a heavy duty hairspray for those tricky styles. If you thought your hair couldn't hold curls before, try this bad boy! It will keep every piece of hair in place throughout the day but can make hair a little crunchy. Fun fact: Nikki Sixx uses this hairspray. So you know it has a strong hold if his hair stays in place during a 2 hour rock concert.

Garnier Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Hairspray - The most budget friendly option. It works well and doesn't have a strong scent. I can't say it keeps my hair perfectly defended against extremely humid, summer days but it will hold curls and control fly-aways.

Look Polished With Little Effort! Inspired by Emma Roberts.

I have been loving American Horror Story Freak Show! When I saw Emma Roberts' makeup for this season, I thought oh my god! It was so simple but so flawless. I knew it would be the perfect look to recreate that would be quick and easy to do in the mornings before work. And the best part is that red lip, making it even more perfect for the holiday season!

A bold lip and a subtle eye always make you look like you put much more effort into your makeup than you actually did. It's one of my favorite tricks! Especially when I'm really tired in the morning and want to get those extra few minutes of beauty sleep.

Start with a full coverage foundation and set with a matte powder. You know I love my Revlon ColorStay and Rimmel Matte Powder. Add some Maybelline Age Rewind concealer under your eyes. Emma doesn't have much contouring going on but I always add a little under my cheek bones and along my jaw. My new favorite is the neutral tone L'Oreal True Match Powders.

As always, prime your eyes and let dry. Take the Wet N Wild trio in Sweet as Candy and lightly apply the crease color all over the lid and up into the crease. Also, apply this shadow along your lower lash line and blend. Take the Revlon ColorStay Waterproof liner in Black and smudge into the outer half of your upper lash line. Apply some Maybelline Falsies Flared Mascara for a final touch!

Use Indie Flick by NYX to achieve Emma's bold lips.

Loosely pull back the front section of your hair and secure with bobby pins. Grab 1-1 1/2 inch sections of hair and curl the bottom half of your hair with a 1 1/2 inch curling iron.

And there you have it. A super quick, easy, and polished look!

How 2 Revive Your Old Nail Polish!

Nothing is worse than reaching for your favorite nail polish and twisting off the top only to realize it is that horrible thick, gunky consistency. Last night, I had this happen to me. I was not ready to part with one of my favorite OPI glitter polishes so I decided to revive it using a tip my friend taught me forever ago. All you need is a bottle of nail polish remover, which I'm sure you already have around your house.

Take the top off of your nail polish and place it to the side. Pour a little bit of the remover directly into the nail polish bottle. Screw the top back on and shake it up. Start with a small amount of remover and add more as needed. I have ruined a nail polish or two by pouring too much remover into it. Once you find that perfect consistency your polish will be like new! Worked wonders on my glitter polish and now I can rock my holiday sparkle nails!

Fashion Inspiration: Candice Swanepoel

Tomorrow night is the broadcast of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. I love all the glamor, the glitter, and of course, watching the gorgeous models strut their stuff! Candice Swanepoel is absolutely stunning and I die over her style. With the fashion show just hours away, I wanted to showcase some of my favorite Candice looks! She will definitely be inspiring my fashion choices this holiday season!

Banish Damage! The Dos and Don'ts for Healthy Hair!

Is your hair dry, brittle, over processed, or breaking? If your answer is yes then listen up because I have some dos and don'ts to get your luscious locks back to their healthy state.

DON'T: Wash you hair every day. It strips out the natural oils that are beneficial for healthy hair. Dry shampoo is your new best friend!

DO: When you wash your hair, shampoo twice with a professional grade shampoo. The first time removes buildup and the second time cleanses the scalp. I love Euphora's Urgent Repair Shampoo because it is specific to damaged hair and works fabulously.

DON'T: Use a towel to dry your hair. It pulls out the moisture and is very harsh on already split ends.

DO: Use an old cotton t-shirt to dry your hair. Much more gentle.

DON'T: Brush your hair when wet because wet hair has no elasticity, which equals breakage.

DO: If you must brush out your wet hair to avoid major tangles, use a leave in conditioner and wide tooth comb. Start gently detangling from the ends to the roots.

DON'T: Use heated styling tools too much. They simply fry your already dead ends. That's not to say never use your favorite curling iron, just try not to use it every day before work or school.

DO: Use a heat protectant every time before using your heated styling tools. Also, if you know you are going to use a curling iron or straightener, do not put any oils in your hair.

DON'T: Over process your hair. I was getting my hair colored bleach blonde for over 4 years and it caused major damage. The bleach on top of bleach on top of bleach thinned, broke, and dried out my hair so badly.

DO: Use some sort of macadamia or coconut oil occasionally on dry hair. If your hair is extremely dry, use once a week. Once you see improvements, cut back to once every other week.

I hope these tips help you take your hair from drab to fab!

Unleash Your Inner Rock Chick with Leather Leggings!

I love a good pair of faux leather leggings! There are so many ways to style them. You can dress them up with a sweater and some pearls or you can rock out with a tank, leather jacket, and boots.

If you are like me then you can never have too many in your closet. I have been doing a lot of searching recently and have found some killer options. There is definitely something for everyone in these options. Various brands, styles, and prices.

Bebe Wet Leggings - When I say I love these leggings, I mean I really love these leggings! I have worn them to almost every concert and recently to NYC. They are so comfortable and durable. The best part is, they are currently on sale for $41. Click here.

Express Scuba Leggings - These are a slightly pricer option but you cannot deny all the positive reviews they have. They go for $59.90 but if you are in need of multiple pants, you can get your next pair for $19.90. Click here.

Forever 21 Faux Leather - These are the budge friendly options. Both the leggings and the pants have great reviews. Plus, Forever 21 runs pretty true to size so no guess work needed when ordering these.  The leggings are $13.80 and the pants are $24.80. Such steals! Click for the leggings and pants.

H&M Biker Pants - These are fab cropped biker pants that would be perfect to pair with pumps and a sweater for work. The only problem I have with ordering from H&M online is their sizing. Their clothing runs very small so consider going up a size or two when ordering. These are only $29.95. Click here.

I hope these options help you unleash your inner rock chick!

Think You Can't Wear Earrings Due to Sensitive Ears? Think Again!

If you are like me, then you know the literal pains of having sensitive ears. I have gotten to the point of thinking I either could not wear earrings anymore or needed really expensive 14K earrings. Well, I was wrong! Thanks to a little tip from Leighannsays on YouTube, I found an inexpensive alternative that really works and I want to share it with you!

Next time you stop by your local Target, check out their earrings. There will be a section of stud sets and other fashion statement earrings, all that say "nickel free" on the cardboard. These work wonders for sensitive ears! I have been wearing various one every day for over a week now and no soreness! I love that there are tons of options, but I have to say the best part is the can't beat prices. Most sets of 6 earrings run about $10!

I highly recommend you check out these earrings if you have suffered from sensitive ears!

Keep Curls in Place Overnight!

I spent yesterday evening at my salon getting my hair cut. Every time my amazing stylist asks me if I wanted it styled straight or in curls. Usually, I opt for straight hair but recently I have really been loving curls. She taught me a killer tip that will allow you to curl your hair at night, go to bed, and wake up with fab curls!

You will want to start off by curling your hair normally the night before. When you curl, do not pull at your curls; leave them tight. Make sure you prep your hair with hairspray before you curl and spray a generous layer of hairspray to set your hair once you have curled all of your hair. I recommend using L'Oreal Elnett or Euphora hairspray because they will not make your hair super hard and crunchy. Now get some beauty sleep!

When you wake up in the morning, run your fingers through your hair to break up and sexy up those curls! Spray some more hairspray. This is when I like to use Bed Head because it will hold everything all day long. And now you have fabulous curls, as simple as that!

How 2 Hydrate Dry Hands this Winter!

Do you have really dry hands and just can't seem to get them hydrated? Well, stop your worrying because I have a quick, easy, and effective solution. All you need are: a sugar scrub, exfoliating gloves, and L'Occitane Shae Butter Hand Cream.

While you are in the shower, put on your gloves, which you can get at any drugstore, and take your sugar scrub (Target has a great one for a really budget friendly price) and exfoliate your hands. Make sure you get the back of your hands, the palms, and in between your fingers. Once you are out of the shower and completely dry, apply a small amount of the hand cream. This product is a little pricey but it is worth every penny. It keeps hands hydrated through three hand washes and you only need to use the tiniest bit.

Repeat these simple steps and within a few days your hands will be silky smooth and protected from the harsh winter weather!

Custom Rock N Roll Heels!

A few months ago I saw someone post about their new Nikki Sixx heels. I was dying over them and knew I had to find where she purchased them.Well, needless to say, I did find the fabulous Etsy shop filled with all kinds of custom heels and most importantly, the Nikki Sixx heels. I placed my order and was quickly contacted by the shop owner, Jodi. She communicated with me throughout the whole process and kept me posted on how things were going. It was a pleasure ordering and talking with Jodi. It was one of the best Etsy purchasing experiences and I would highly recommend you check out her stuff!

She has a lot of rock band, Disney, and comic book options. She also offers heels, wedges, and flats. If you have an idea you really want to happen, she takes custom orders. The shoes arrived quickly and they were perfect. I love them to death and always get compliments on them. They are definitely unique and make a statement!

Meeting my Fashion Inspiration, Courtney Bingham-Sixx!

It should come as no surprise when I say my biggest fashion inspiration is the fab Courtney Bingham-Sixx! I have done a number of posts recreating some of her outfits and makeup looks. Well, this past weekend I was in Detroit for my last Motley Crue concert of 2014. After the show, as I was walking out of the arena, I saw her standing by the B stage. I went over to introduce myself and she was as sweet as can be. We chatting for a while about the tour and her fashion. She was very easy to talk to, gracious, and even more gorgeous in person. It was a pleasure meeting her and in honor of the occasion, I thought I would share a collage of some of my favorite Courtney outfits. Hopefully you can pull some inspiration from them, as well.

Here are some of my previous post spotlighting Courtney's style: one, two, three, four, five.

OOTD: Motley Crue Final Tour

It feels like just yesterday I was posting about my Motley Crue Final Tour outfit inspiration. Well, needless to say, over the past couple months I have gone to many of their shows. This Saturday will be my 8th and last Motley Crue show of 2014. I have realized I have a go-to outfit that I love rocking to these shows. Currently, all of the items are back in-stock on the various websites, so I thought I would share my rock chick outfit with you.

My outfit consists of faux leather leggings, a Motley Crue lace back tank, a faux leather jacket, and black boots. The tank is loose enough that you won't feel suffocated but still shows off your figure. I like to tie it up in the back with a hair tie that is concealed by the jacket, but I have worn it both ways and it has looked killer. These items are a little pricer than I normally like to spend but all of the items have held up super well over the multiple late nights of rocking out and everything that comes with it. The leather jacket is also a great transition piece when it is too chilly to go without a jacket, but not cold enough to wear a heavy coat.

Check out these links to order: Bebe leggings, Motley Crue tank, leather jacket. I got the boots years ago and cannot even recall where they are from. Any moto boots will look fab with this outfit!

This outfit or something very similar would be perfect to wear to any rock show. It's sexy, fun, and still very comfortable. If you have fallen in love with any of these pieces, I highly recommend ordering quickly. All of these items sold out in a very short amount of time last they were available online.

Enjoy!

Give Your Perfume Extra Staying Power!

It is no secret that I love perfume! Nothing is more annoying than your fragrance wearing off throughout the night. Well today I have a quick tip that I learned from a makeup artist recently that will keep your perfume going strong throughout the day or night.

When you spray on your perfume, spray one or two squirts on the back of your hair. The fragrance will latch on and stay much longer than it would by just spraying it on your clothes or neck. Be mindful, however, that with more expensive, luxurious fragrances, you don't need to go spray crazy! My favorite is Angel and 3 sprays max will give you a nice scent without being too overpowering. We have all had that experience when standing next to someone who sprayed entirely too much perfume! Not good! If you use Victoria's Secret fragrances, like I do sometimes for work, or other comparable perfumes, you can be a little more liberal when spraying on.

And an added bonus: when you are dancing the night away, you will be able to really smell your perfume as your hair bounces around!

Zombie Bride Makeup and Hair Tutorial!

With Halloween right around the corner, I wanted to share with you a look that I am absolutely in love with. It's inspired by Courtney Bingham-Sixx's zombie bride from last year and I think it would make a killer costume this year! I thought this would be a fun look to recreate. However, for my look I'm going to tone down the white face a bit. I wanted my skin tone to come through more than her's but no worries, we are still going to go pale!

Start off by making that skin look deathly pale. I am pretty pale to begin with so I don't have much to change but if you have a darker toned skin, simply use an ivory, full coverage foundation and apply all over and blend down to where your top will begin. You don't want to have a different colored neck and face. Now set your foundation with light or translucent powder. Time for one of the most important steps.. contouring! Take a matte gray eyeshadow (Shadowy Lady from MAC would be perfect) and apply in the hollows of your cheeks and your jaw line. Blend the edges slightly. Build up your gray and then add a little bit of black eyeshadow to the same areas. Blend again.

Now onto those undead eyes! Apply Shadowy Lady by MAC all over the lid and into the crease, as well as liberally underneath your eye. This is a cool, smokey gray. Now take Sketch from MAC, a gorgeous, muted plum, and blend it through your crease, up to your eyebrows, into the inner corner of your eye and towards your nose, and underneath your eye. Once you have built the color up underneath your eye, blend out so there are no harsh lines.

Last but not least, the lips! Cyber from MAC is a deep plum black and would be perfect to tie this zombie bride look together! If that is not dark enough for you, simply pat a little black eye shadow over top of the lipstick!

Get that messy, I've been dead for years hair by curling your hair in small sections. Brush out some sections and run your fingers through others to get out-of-control curls. Tease away! Get that hair as big as possible. If you want to add a little texture, spray some Not Your Mother's Sea Salt Spray and scrunch some sections.

Hope you love this look as much as I do! Happy Hauntings!

How 2 Get Tiffany's Bride of Chucky Costume!

Today I have my first DIY Halloween costume! I was watching The Bride of Chucky and I thought... how fun would it be to dress up as Tiffany for Halloween? She's super glam and creepy at the same time! So perfect for a killer Halloween costume. So, if you want to know how to get the Tiffany makeup, hair, nails, and clothes, keep reading!

Let's start with the makeup! Start off by applying you normal foundation, concealer, and powder. If you want her doll-like skin tone, go a shade or two lighter than normal. Contour your cheekbones using your bronzer and then apply Bobbie Brown's blush in plum right over top of that and blend up onto the apples of your cheeks. Take a black eyeshadow and fill in your brows and apply your eyeshadow primer to your lids. Take Wet N Wild's Petal Pusher palette and apply the lighter definer color to your lids and blend up. Apply the lighter crease color into the outer corners, into the crease, and along your lower lash lines. Take the darker crease and eyelid colors, mix together, and blend into the creases and lower lash lines. Apply the white browbone color as a highlight. Add a thin line of L'Oreal Linear Intense eyeliner in black to your top lash lines. Apply some mascara and pop on some false lashes. Add some of MAC's Cyber to your lips to vamp them up. Extend the corners of your lips to get Tiffany's evil smirk. Take any sort of eyeliner pencil and add Tiffany's beauty mark above your lips.

For hair, you have two options. One, purchase a blonde wig at Party City or other stores that has costumes and accessories. Two, blow dry your hair upside down and tease to get a lot of volume. Straighten and add a little flip to the ends.

Use my DIY stiletto nails tutorial, apply some claws and paint them black.

To complete Tiffany's look, click these links to check out a fabulous dress, moto jacket, and boots from Forever 21. They are the perfect finishing touches to complete your look and they won't break the back!

Now, as Tiffany says, "Barbie, eat your heart out!"

DIY Blood Splatter Nails

If you are looking for a way to add a little horror to your nails this Halloween, I have a tutorial for you! These blood splatter nails look killer and are surprisingly easy and fun to do! All you need are a light base nail polish (preferably white), a dark red nail polish, a click pen that you don't mind throwing away after you are finished, and a paper plate.

Start by painting your nails two coats of the base color and let dry. Unscrew the two halves of your pen and throw away the clicky end and the actual ink tube. Pour some of your red nail polish onto the paper plate and lightly dip the smaller end of the pen into it. Hold that end close to your first nail and blow into the pen! Red polish will splatter in random designs. Repeat this process on all of your nails and let dry! Apply a top coat to seal in all of your splatters and then you are finished! Now you have your very own Dexteresque nails!

Spooktacular Shows!

Halloween is quickly approaching! The nights are getting cooler and there is no better time to curl up and watch some creepy tv shows. Just be prepared to sleep with the light on! I wanted to share some of my all-time favorite shows to watch anytime of year, but particularly right around Halloween.

American Horror Story - I am a huge fan of this show! I love that each season is different. I have to say my favorite season is still Horror House, but all have been topnotch. Needless to say, I am beyond excited for a creepy carnival/ freak show theme. Right up my alley! It starts this Wednesday, so set your DVR!

The Walking Dead - Zombies? Yes, please! I was hooked on this show after the first episode of season 1. That whole season (as short as it is) is amazing! Not going to lie, I have not liked the recent seasons as much, but it still keeps me coming back for more. This one starts up within the next couple weeks.

Bates Motel - Very eerie show. It's the prequel to Psycho but Norman's mom is even more fascinatingly disturbing than him. Very interesting show that keeps you guessing.

Paranormal Witness - This show is surprisingly good and can sometimes be really scary. Each episode focuses on one or two "true" ghost stories with reenactments. Though I cannot say I completely believe all of the stories, the clips with the actors can be freaky. Most of the stories are really interesting, too.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? - An oldie but a goodie! If you want to take a trip down memory lane, I recommend you check out this show. I would watch this show every day after getting home from elementary school. I love it just as much now and I did back then!

Revealed 2 Palette Fall Eyes

This fall I have been loving anything orange, burgundy, berry, cabernet, and cranberry. Basically, any colors that remind me of fall. Not only have I been wearing a lot of these colored clothes, but I have also been loving playing with my eyeshadow and using these colors. I recently got my hands on Coastal Scent's Revealed 2 palette, which is a big change for me with the rose based colors, and it has exceeded my expectations. Not only are these shadows perfect to use to achieve fall looks, but the quality is amazing! So today, I want to share with you one of my favorite looks using this palette.

Start of by mixing a little bit of the gold shimmer (top, 4th from the right) with the peach shimmer (top, 3rd from the left) and the lightest color (top left corner). Apply this beautiful shimmery combo all over your lids and up into your crease. Mix some of the matte burgundy (bottom, 3rd from left) with the matte brown (bottom, 3rd from right) for your outer corner and crease. Start by smudging this combo into your lash line on the outer corner and blend up into a V shape and lightly into the crease. Continue this until you build up the color to your preferred intensity. Take this same color combo and apply it to the lower lash line, too. Go back in with the shimmers and touch up your lid. Add some of the lightest shadow to your brown bone for a nice highlight. Apply some liquid liner to your top lash line and mascara to finish off the look. So easy, right?

Rock the Look: Courtney Bingham-Sixx's Mod Inspired Style

This fall it seems like it is the return of mod and 90s inspired styles. I am totally not complaining. I love the 90s disheveled, grungy look for guys and the super fun and glam mod look for the ladies.

When I saw this picture of Courtney Bingham-Sixx (who we all know by now, is one of my biggest fashion inspirations) I just about died. I loved this look for fall and knew I had to have it. Well, thanks to Courtney's instagram post, I knew the dress could be found at Forever 21, which means it's very affordable. I quickly went to their site and found the dress. For the necklace, the exact one she is wearing is from TopShop and costs over $30. No, thank you! I found a coral, floral necklace on Forever 21 and thought it would look great with the dress and was a much better price. I was super excited about the boots because I bought an extremely similar pair on clearance at DSW this past summer. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, but DSW currently has a ton of amazing options. I found a Steve Madden pair that would be perfect to pull together this mod look.

Now for the makeup. Again, Courtney posted on instagram and shared her eye makeup was using Wet N Wild products. Again, so exciting to hear since Wet N Wild has great products for even greater prices. Use the eyeshadow trio in Don't Steal My Thunder and apply the lid color all over and the crease color heavily in the crease. Pop on some winged liquid liner, falsies, and a ton of mascara. Keep the lips nude with Wet N Wild's lipstick in Birthday Suit.

Let down your hair and enjoy this edgy, mod-inspired look!

My Must-Have Lip Colors for Fall!

Fall Lip Colors
Tomorrow is October 1st and that means it is time to break out those must-have fall lip colors! I have my five go-to lip colors that I am always reaching for and I want to share them with you. And the best part about these products is, they are all drugstore and super affordable! From left to right:

Revlon Standout Matte Balm - I love this vampy red! It is the perfect shade for fall because it is not too bright. It is easy to apply and doesn't flake or feather throughout the day.

Rimmel Heather Shimmer - This lipstick is a very interesting color. When looking at it in the tube, it looks like a mauve/ plum. When on the lips, it looks like a plum from far away and a brown/ nude up close.

Maybelline Totally Toffee - This is the lipstick that I reach for when I don't know what I want to do with my makeup. I know it will go with any eye look and outfit. It is creamy on the lips and stays on all day.

Milani Nude Creme - This is a peachy nude that is a great option for a light, fresh fall face. I think it is a great lipstick to transition your makeup from summer to fall.

Nyx Zurich - Okay, I have a love/ hate relationship with this product. I adore the color. It's a peachy, almost slightly orange, nude that is so perfect for the fall and goes with many different fall inspired eye looks. The only problem is, it dries out my lips so badly within minutes of putting it on. I quick fix I found, that has really saved this product for me, is to take a little bit of the Vaseline lip therapy and pat it over top of Zurich. Instant moisture!

Fall Outfits Recreated for Half the Price!

Revolve Clothing
I love Revolve Clothing but sometimes I feel that their stuff is so over-priced that one outfit would break the bank. On their front page right now they have a ton of "get the look" fall options. Needless to say, I fell in love with almost every single one. There were two in particular that I knew I had to have. So, I got the bright idea to recreate these outfits using other clothing brands for half the price! Keep reading to learn how to get these looks for less!

Left: I love the flirty yet professional look from the outfit pictured on the left. The gray skirt with the black top and booties are just too fun! I found a similar skirt and top from... you guessed it, Forever 21. This skirt is very similar in style but has a little bit of red mixed in, which ties together the red lip. This black blouse is also very similar and a great price. Journey's has a ton of black heeled and wedged booties that would look killer with this outfit.

Right: This outfit is to die for! It is so perfect for those chilly fall days. The first site I browsed for something similar to this look was again, Forever 21. I found this skirt that reminded me almost exactly of the skirt from Revolve. I had a bit of a challenge finding a sweater that would be similar but not too expensive. Everything I was finding was either too long, not the right color, or not a V neck. Finally, I found this sweater on Express' website. These boots are the perfect finishing touch to complete this outfit.

This just goes to show you don't have to spend a ton of money to create some killer outfits!

Fall Style Essential: Oversized Plaid Shirt

I love fall style! One of my favorite items of clothing to wear to stay warm and cozy in the crisp air is oversized plaid shirts. There are so many ways to rock this shirts and it pretty much scream fall! That is why it is one of my fall style essentials.

An oversized plaid shirt is perfect whether you are going to a pumpkin patch, screaming you head off on a haunted hayride, or cuddling up watching some of the Halloween movies I suggested in my previous post. It looks slightly grungy but still put together. My favorite way to wear this shirt is with leggings, boots, and my Ray-Bans. But another killer way to style this shirt is tying it around your waist with shorts, a crop top, and motorcycle boots. I am going to Florida for Halloween Horror Nights in October and I will definitely be rocking this look. That way, when it cools off at night, you can put it on and keep warm.

I wanted to share some of my favorite oversized plaid shirts I have found on the internet. The deep purple with lace one is my absolute favorite. If you can't find one you are in love with or they don't have your size, another option is to buy a men's plaid shirt. It will be just as perfectly oversized as the trendy ones you can get in the womens department.

Option 1, option 2, and option 3.

Halloween Movie Marathon.

It's officially Fall! What better to do on a cool night in September or October than have a Halloween movie marathon! So grab a blanket, dim the lights, light a pumpkin candle, and find someone to cuddle into when you get too scared. Here is a list of movie I love watching around Halloween time. It has something for everything... Whether you a horror movie fanatic or you like to stick to the less scary flicks.

  • Hocus Pocus
  • The Ring
  • Beetlejuice
  • Trick R Treat
  • A Nightmare on Elm Street
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas
  • The Exorcist
  • Signs

My Go-To, Naked Palette Concert Eye Look!

This rock chick loves going to concerts! For the past couple years I have had my go-to eye look that I rock to every concert. It's easy, it's flattering, and it really makes my eyes pop. The best part is, it can be created using one palette! This is a must since I have been doing a lot of traveling to Motley Crue shows and don't want to pack a ton of makeup for overnight trips.

So, if you want to know how to get the look pictured above, which I am totally in love with, grab your Urban Decay Naked Palette and let's get started!

I always start by priming my eyes with Urban Decay's Primer Potion. After you let that set, mix Sin, Sidecar, and a tiny bit of Virgin and pat all over the lid. I tend to blend up into the crease, as well. Now take Gunmetal and pop it into your crease and outer corner in a V. I like to pull the shadow up and out, while maintaining that V shape, to elongate my eyes. Blend away! I usually go back in and darken up the outer corner with Gunmetal and then mix in a little bit of Creep for depth. Again, blend. Add a little more Sin and Sidecar to the inner 2/3 of your lid if any got lost with all the blending. Apply Virgin to your brown bone for a gorgeous highlight. Take Revlon's ColorStay waterproof black liner and apply to your lower lash line. I like to make the outer corner thicker and darker, again to elongate my eyes. Go back to the Naked palette and apply Creep over top the liner and blend. Add your favorite liquid liner to your top lash line with a slight wing. Apply your favorite mascara and false lashes and you're done! So easy, right?

I like to pair this eye look with the LipFusion gloss in Sugar. It's a plumping gloss but isn't too intense. It makes your lips look more luscious while adding a "your lips but better" tint (as Leighannsays on YouTube would say).

Also, a little bonus tip! The Naked palette is a little pricey and if that is out of your budget or you just cannot justify spending that kind of money on eye shadows, I have a solution. Coastal Scent's Revealed palette has almost identical shadows for half the price. And, the quality of these shadows are not compromised. They are super easy to blend and stay on all day!

My Must Have Fall Nail Colors!

Must Have Fall Nail Colors
Fall is seriously my favorite time of the year. With all the crisp mornings we have been having, it definitely feels like fall is here! That means knee high boots, orange leaves, pumpkin lattes, and dark nails! Now, I'm not going to sit here and lie to you... I wear dark nail polish all year. After all, rules are meant to be broken, right? But for those of you who get into wearing dark polishes once the weather cools off, these are a few of my favorites that are so gorgeous to rock this season. From left to right: Essie - Wicked, Revlon - Knockout, Revlon - Velvet Rope, OPI - Casino Royale, Essie - Mink Muff. All of these go on fabulously without needed a ton of coats, last a long time without chipping, and will not break the bank!

PS - I know August and the beginning of September were a little quiet here but prepare to be bombarded with fall-themed posts within the next couple months!

Fall Look Inspired by SJP's Dramatic Hocus Pocus Makeup!

I can't believe my favorite season is right around the corner. I could not be more excited for fall and everything that comes with it! I have already pulled out the boots and sweaters, lit my leaves candle, and ordered a pumpkin latte. I have also already watched one of my all time favorite Halloween movies, Hocus Pocus for the first of many times this fall. Ever since I was young, I have always loved Sarah. Well, while I was watching the movie last night, I noticed how gorgeous her makeup is! It is seriously the perfect fall makeup look. And, it is super easy to recreate. So, without further adieu, here is how to get the fabulous Sarah Sanderson's witchy, fall makeup look.

She has flawless skin and when it comes to covering up imperfection, I feel like a broken record. I always use Revlon ColorStay foundation, Maybelline FitMe and Age Rewind concealers, Rimmel Stay Matte powder, and Revlon Nearly Naked powder for contouring. I love these products to death, which is why they never change. I would highly recommend them but you can use whatever face products you prefer. Also, apply an eyeshadow primer of choice all over your lids and let it set. I am still loving Urban Decay's Primer Potion!

Now onto the fun, dramatic parts of this look... eyes and lips! Starting with the eyes, apply Jouer's Mahogany eyeshadow all over the lids and up into the crease. This is a gorgeous dark brown with red undertones and the tiniest bit of sparkle. I'm not lying when I say with Jouer eyeshadows, a little goes a long way without losing any pigmentation. Blend out the crease with the crease color in Wet N Wild's trio in Sweet As Candy and highlight your brow bones with the highlight shadown in Wet N Wild's trio in Silent Treatment. Apply a thick line of your favorite black liquid liner to your top lash line. My personal favorite is L'Oreal Linear Intense Liquid Eyeliner. Take Revlon's ColorStay black waterproof liner and apply it under your lower lashes and in your waterline. Smudge out the black with some of the Jouer Mahogany shadow. Sarah's shadow is pretty thick and intense under her eyes in the movie. Pop on a coat of Maybelline's Falsies Flared mascara in black and apply your favorite false lashes for some extra drama. Apply another coat of mascara to bond your real lashes with the falsies and your eyes are done!

I love the red lipstick she rocks in the movie because it's more of a vampy red without being too dark. I used the Revlon Matte Balm in Standout and it worked perfectly!

I hope you enjoy this look as much as I do! Just another one of the many reasons I am so excited for fall!

This Black Nail Polish is a Knockout!

I love black nail polish! It is one of the few polished I have used an entire bottle of and needed to repurchase. Now, I have had my fair share of different brands of black polish... From the good, to the bad, to the amazing! I have to say Revlon's Knockout is my all time favorite. I cannot say enough good things about this products.

Most importantly, it is affordable. It's not one of those brands that is $10-$12 for a bottle of nail polish that is probably going to dry up before you finish it. Secondly, this polish stays on forever. No joke. And no top coat needed. Lastly, it is not watery. I hate black polishes that are very thin and almost see through. Not this product! It is a true opaque!

With fall right around the corner, there is no better time to break out those dark polishes. If you are in the market for a black polish, Revlon's Knockout is the way to go!

Motley Crue Adventures and My Must Have Products for Concerts!

Sorry it has been quite here for a little bit. I have been on the road traveling to various Motley Crue concerts up and down the east coast. To say I had the time of my life is an understatement! From having front row in front of Nikki Sixx, to him throwing me his pick, to him spitting on me, to meeting him... It's been a dream come true!

One thing that has not been a dream come true at the shows has been the weather. I've been rocking out in scorching heat, ungodly humidity, and chilly rain. Between terrible weather conditions and Nikki's waterfall of spit, somehow my hair and makeup has held up throughout the four plus hour concerts. So, I wanted to share with you some of the hair and makeup products I have been using that have been life savers!

I have been straightening my hair and, although it doesn't remain completely straight by the end of the concert, it has held up extremely well. After I wash it, I use Chi Straight Guard and Aussie Miraculously Smooth Styling Mousse. These products really help maintain the styling and avoid frizzing. Once my hair is dry, I straighten it and spray with Loreal Elnett Satin Hairpray. This stuff is great; it doesn't make your hair crunchy like some hairsprays. Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray has been keeping my makeup in place, as the name says... all night! After I finish applying my makeup I spray the product all over my face and then I don't have to worry about creasing, melting, ect.

I have one more Motley Crue show this coming weekend then a break until October. Words cannot express how much I am going to miss this band when they take their final bow!

OOTD: New York City Broadway Edition.

This past weekend I took a mini trip up to one of my favorite places.. New York City! I always have to see at least one Broadway show while I'm there and this visit was no different. I saw the incredibly talented Ramin Karimloo in Les Miserables again and Rock of Ages. Now, the appropriate attire for shows has become increasingly casual over the years but I still wanted to look nice without over doing it. Also, when I checked the weather is was calling for rain all day. This made picking an outfit out for the shows before even leaving my house quite the challenge since I did not want to pack a full suitcase for one night. I ended up decided on an outfit that worked out really well! So, without further ado, here is my  outfit of the day: NYC Broadway edition.

I knew I wanted to wear one of my super cute and inexpensive skater skirts from H&M. I paired it with a gray crop top from American Eagle and my all time favorite, faux leather jacket by Blank Denim. It wasn't super warm out so I opted for my Steve Madden Troopa boots, which are super comfortable for all of the walking we were doing.

If you have never had a chance to visit New York City, I highly recommend it. And I hope this outfit inspires you for your trip!

Show Off Your Pearly Whites without Expensive Bleaching

Everyone wants pearly white teeth, right? I know I do! But let me tell you, I will never ever spend crazy amounts of money to have my teeth professionally bleached again. One horrible experience was quite enough! So for those of you who want gorgeous white teeth without breaking the bank, I have some tips and tricks for you!

I had a lot of dental work done a few years ago and part of the process included professionally bleaching my teeth. Through that excruciatingly painful 45 minutes I learned I have sensitive teeth, which rules out any professional bleaching in the future. So if you have sensitive teeth like I do, I recommend taking this route to a whiter, brighter smile.

One important step to a shining smile is flossing! I know, I know... most people don't have time to floss. But I promise you if you take those couple minutes, even just once a night, your teeth with look cleaner and brighter. Another tip to avoid staining is to drink your coffee or soda through a straw. I love my coffee in the morning and I almost always drink it out of a straw! It really helps.

Thanks to Pinterest, I found a great method for at-home teeth whitening. Mix a little bit of toothpaste, a teaspoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide, and half a teaspoon of water. Brush onto your teeth for 2 minutes. Use this DIY once a week until your smile is blindingly beautiful!

Get Lana Del Rey's Rolling Stone Cover Look!

If you are like me, you are kind of in love with Lana Del Rey. A while back I made a post on a Lana inspired makeup tutorial. I always love her retroesque makeup and when I saw the new issue of Rolling Stone, I knew this was one of her looks that would be perfect to do a tutorial on.

As always, you have to get your face looking flawless like Lana's. My go-to products are: Revlon ColorStay Satin Finish foundation in Natural Beige, Maybelline Age Rewind under eye concealer, Maybelline FitMe concealer, Rimmel Stay Matte powder in Translucent, and Revlon Nearly Naked powder in Medium to contour and add a little definition.

Now onto the fun part... the eyes and lips! Start by applying an eyeshadow primer all over your lids. I love the Urban Decay Primer Potion. Take the Wet N Wild trio in Silent Treatment and apply the lid color all over your lids. Don't blend up too far. Apply the crease color from the same trio lightly onto your lower lash line. Take Stila's black liquid eyeliner and apply to your top lash line. Start off with a thin line at your inner corner and make it thicker as you go towards the outer corner. Create a slight Lana signature... the winged cat eye. Apply Revlon's Matte Balm Stain in Standout to your lips. Slightly overdraw your lips if you want to recreate Lana's pout.

To complete Lana's look pop on some baby blue nail polish. One of my favorites is OPI's What's with the Cattitude?

And there you have it! This is a super simple makeup look that would be great for school or work. It's clean but adds a little drama with the bold lips. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Courtney Bingham-Sixx Inspired Office Style

Courtney Bingham-Sixx Inspired Office Attire
No big surprise here... Another outfit inspired by my fashion inspiration, Courtney Bingham-Sixx. When I saw this post on her instagram I died a little on the inside. This outfit is the perfect mix of fun and flirty with a little 80's thrown in. This time, I didn't recreate the look exactly how she wore it. Instead, I took her fab outfit and turned it into something I could wear to work.

I was already channeling my inner Courtney because I had recently purchased a hot pink pencil skirt from H&M and fallen in love with it. I just never thought to pair it with a fun leopard print top. Usually, you can find a great, inexpensive leopard top from Forever 21 but I have not been impressed with their selection lately. Instead, I went for the very popular Express Portofino shirt in the leopard print. It is the perfect mix of professional and edgy, which is needed for this look. And as fun as her  hot pink, patent pumps are, I opted for a more practical shoe. I went with my personal favorite black, patent pump by Jessica Simpson. These heels are currently a clearance item on DSW's website so grab a pair or two. It's a steal! I accessorized with my gold Michael Kors watch, which I highly recommend you check out at a local MK store near you. I topped it all of with a fresh St. Tropez self-tan and Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick.

Visit these links to add a little bit of fun to your office attire: skirt, portofino shirt, and pumps.

Keep Your Hair Feeling Fresh with Batiste

As I am sure you know, it is not a good idea to wash your hair every day. Essentially, you are washing away all of your hair's natural oils. Now I know some of you are thinking... that's the point! Well, those natural oils are actually really good for your hair. I used to be one of those people who wash their hair nightly, however, thanks to a fabulous dry shampoo I came across, I no longer have to.

Let me introduce you to one of my holy grail products... Batiste Dry Shampoo. I love, love, love this stuff! I personally like the wild, leopard can's scent the best, but there are so many options to choose from. All you do is spray around your roots and rub in. Any greasy feeling will instantly be gone. It's like magic! And you won't be left with any residue feeling like some dry shampoos. On top of all of those pros, major plus to this product is the volume it give your hair. Love it!

I cannot say enough good things about Batiste. I highly recommend you try it.

Fabulous Swimwear by Susan Holmes McKagan

I love Susan Holmes McKagan's swimwear line! It is too die for! If you don't know who Susan is, let me fill you in. She is a supermodel and the rock star wife to Guns N Roses original bassist, Duff McKagan. I love her bikinis almost as much as I love her. I wanted to put a little spotlight on her line, in case you have never heard of it. Some of the bikinis are a little pricey but there are also some steals! She has a sale section of fabulous bikinis for about $50 for the top and bottom. That's a better price than most Victoria's Secret bikinis! I already have two of her suits. She also offers cute coverups in her shop.

The main reason I wanted to rave about this swimwear line now is because she posted a discount code on her instagram the other night. You can get 30% off anything by entering "Summer01" at check out! Yes, that includes those great sale items! Check it out here!

If you are in the market for a new bikini, I highly recommend this line. I might even have to add another to my collection!

Motley Crue Final Tour Fashion Inspiration!

This summer Motley Crue is hitting the road for their Final Tour. I am a huge Crue fan and knew I had to go to as many shows as possible once it was announced. Needless to say, I will be going to many shows. Seven total! Since many of these shows are during the hot, summer months, I knew I needed to add some pieces to my wardrobe that would be perfect for these outdoor venues. I put together a little inspiration set on Polyvore of some of the things I will be rocking to the shows.

The first mission I went on was finding cute shorts. My two favorite stores to get affordable shorts are American Eagle and Hollister. They have a ton of options and right now they are having great sales! While at Hollister, I also picked up a flowy white tee that knots in the front. These destroyed high rise shorts and burn out tee will be perfect paired with some hot motorcycle boots.

I'm also loving crop tops! They will look great paired with high rise shorts or a skater skirt. I fell in love with this floral crop top from Forever 21. And the price is amazing! Last but not least in the top department... a Motley Crue tour tank! I love this because it will look great with leather leggings and the whole back is lace!

I am always wearing some sort of motorcycle boots to concerts. Yes, even in the summer. They are comfortable while standing on your feet for hours upon hours and they look killer! I found a great pair of Steve Madden boots on heels.com. I will be taking this crossbody bag from Forever 21 to all the shows so I can keep my personal items close.

Now for makeup. I'm sure I will be changing up my look each night but there are two staples that are a must for outdoor concerts. Stila liquid liner and the Revlon Balm Stain in Honey are great because you don't have to worry about running or fading!

If you get a chance, I highly recommend checking out Motley Crue on their Final Tour this summer!

Love Affair with Jouer Cosmetics

Today I want to introduce you to one of my favorite makeup brands (at least for eye makeup) that I feel isn't too well known. It's Jouer Cosmetics and it's fabulous! I recently discovered this brand thanks to Courtney Bingham-Sixx. When she got married, Entertainment Tonight aired a couple features on the wedding and one talked with her makeup artist, Troy Jensen, about her wedding day look. She looked gorgeous and I had to recreate the look. On Troy's Facebook page, he mentioned using Jouer Cosmetics so I instantly went on the hunt for this brand. I picked up a couple eye shadows and an eye definer pencil, which have all become my favorites! This brand is high end but I promise it won't break the bank like some other luxury brand cosmetics.

Let me start by talking about these velvety eye shadows. They run you $20 a shadow but they will last you forever! All you need is to put a little on your brush and it will cover your whole lid. No fall out and no need to layer on the shadow to get the pigmentation you want. It has great pigmentation and blends out so easily. One of my favorite things about these shadows is that they do not crease throughout the day! That's not a cute look on anyone. There are a ton of amazing colors to choose from and... I have a little tip for you. Jouer Cosmetics are also offered at Nordstrom. Jouer's website and Nordstrom's website have different eyeshadow colors to pick from. There are so many options!

Another one of my favorites is the eye definer pencil. This product has quickly become my every day staple! Now, if you are looking for a dark, opaque black liner, this is not for you! This product is a soft black, almost smokey color. It adds definition to the eye and makes lashes look thicker. You can tell you have liner on but it is not as harsh as liquid or gel liner. It's perfect for day time looks!

I have not tried any of Jouer's other products yet, but I wanted to introduce you to their shadows and definer pencil. It's a great brand and deserves more recognition than it gets.

The Perfect Poolside Style!

The weekend is almost here and I cannot wait! I am having a much needed pool day with one of my girlfriends. A lot of catching up and margaritas are on the agenda! I wanted to share with you my must-have poolside style and where you can pick up these killer items.

A cute little bikini or cut-out one piece is a must! Supermodel/ rock star wife, Susan Holmes McKagan has an amazing swimwear line that is to die for! I have a couple of her bikinis and they are amazing! Some of them are a little pricey but many of them you can get on sale for a mere $50. That's a better steal than a VS bikini.

I love my green mirror Ray-Ban sunglasses . I would highly recommend any of the Ray-Ban mirror aviators... There's a color for everyone!

Jessica Simpson shoes are my absolute favorite and when I found these cork wedges on DSW's site, I died! They are perfect for elongating your leg and looking fab poolside.

Protecting your skin from the sun is super important! A straw fedora or cowboy hat is the perfect accessory that doubles as a shield from the sun! Hawaiian Tropic is my favorite sunscreen. It works great and smells so yummy. The Nyx tinted balms are a great way to keep your lips hydrated and adding a little bit of color.

Last but not least, one of my favorite nail polishes for the summer... Essie's Fiji. It's a beautiful pale pink that makes you look super tan!

Here are the links to some of these products: Susan Holmes Swimwear, Ray-Ban, wedges, cowboy hat. The nail polish, lip balm, and suntan lotion can be purchased at Ulta.

I hope you enjoy this poolside style guide!

Summer Style Essential: Surplice Cami

Summer is finally here! And with it comes lots of sunshine, yummy margaritas, and most prominent... hot hot hot temps! One of my favorite summer style essentials this year is the surplice cami. It's comfy, lightweight, and a little sexy. You can dress it down or dress it up depending on the accessories you pair with it! This is going to be one of my go-to tops for a lot of the concerts I will be going to at outdoor venues over the next couple months. I have found some great options on different sites that I highly recommend you check out! The top on the left is my absolute favorite even though it was the priciest option. Hey, a girl's gotta splurge sometimes.. right?

So, if you are looking to splurge or simply have fallen in love with the top like I have, go over to Revolve Clothing's website. This specific one is the Lanston Surplice Cami, but they have a ton of options at various prices. Forever 21 is always a fabulous alternative with killer prices. Right now they have a lot of surplice options if you do a search. Another cami I found was on Bebe's site. It is black and white, which is really fun since you usually do not see these tops in two colors.

Try pairing one of these camis with a long layered necklace, a stack of bracelets, leather leggings, and platform pumps for a perfect date night ensemble. Or if you are going for a more casual look, go with a pair of jean shorts, Ray Bans, and your choice of wedges, converses, or sandals.

Here are the links to some of the fab surplice camis I found: revolve clothing, forever 21, bebe.
